Stunning sceneries, great food, family activities – Havelock North is a hot holiday destination for 2019. We know of all of the best spots to eat and stay in and so we have put together the ultimate holiday guide to help you plan your next getaway.
A great holiday starts with great travel. Havelock North is situated on the plains of Heretaunga in Hawke’s Bay and there are two main ways you can get to us:
Drive to us:
Feel like planning a family road trip? Getting to Hawke’s Bay couldn’t be easier. If you are coming from the upper North Island, you can take the Thermal Explorer Highway by reaching Taupo, then take a left onto State Highway 5, Napier-Taupo road.
You could also take the Pacific Coast Highway. This scenic drive hugs the East Coast of the North Island passing through Bay of Plenty, Gisborne then arriving in Hawke’s Bay.
The Classic Wine Trail is a great option for couples who are looking to take their time. Head up State Highway 2, until you reach Central Hawke’s Bay. Then you are only 40 minutes away from the beautiful Havelock North.
There are also buses that come in and out of the Hawke's Bay region and many of them stop in the heart of Napier, beside Clive Square. From there, it is just a short walk to Dalton Street - beside the old Napier library and one more bus ride then you are in Havelock North.
Route 11 is a bus route that leaves the old Napier library and takes you right into the heart of Havelock North. This bus route runs Monday - Friday; 7:10am - 5:20pm. There are alternative routes that can take you through to Hastings and then onwards onto Havelock North if you wish to take your time.
Fly to us:
Depending on where you are in New Zealand, you can book a flight with Origin Air, Sounds Air, Jetstar, or Air New Zealand who offer direct flights to the Hawke’s Bay Airport in Napier. The Hawke’s Bay Airport is only a 30-minute drive from Havelock North.
